Seems almost tragic in some ways. After posting my first comment, I was reflecting on the appeal of her character, Sabrina, and realized that she gave hope to young women that it was possible to change one's destiny and leave their former selves...to flower into a rose from a blade of grass. I really like your comment that Hepburn's smile could make the rain stop...very sweet and powerful image.Sunny Westhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02314781286465226051noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1660090614793277371.post-81119047660425715902012-06-13T16:12:14.138-07:002012-06-13T16:12:14.138-07:00Hepburn seemed increasingly fragile as time went o...Hepburn seemed increasingly fragile as time went on. By middle age, she seemed exhausted and looked drawn in photographs.

In bios, her childhood is described as being stressful and strained by the circumstances of displacement--war, unsettled home life, pressured school performance. In her twenties, she seemed fluid and demonstrative, but by her fifties, she looked like an old woman. It was fun sharing this film with my four daughters who
loved it too. Perhaps it is so appealing to young women because Sabrina is a strong and capable, yet very feminine woman. The film and the character are filled with the promise of romance. Serious and playful,Hepburn continues to be a role model for several generations of women.Sunny Westhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02314781286465226051noreply@blogger.com
